Trump’s New Energy Council: A Strategy to Outpace China in AI

US Establishes National Council for Energy Domination

In a strategic move aimed at enhancing the United States’ position in the global energy landscape, President Donald Trump has announced the formation of a new National Energy Council. This initiative is part of a broader effort to ensure that the U.S. remains competitive in artificial intelligence (AI) development, particularly in relation to China.

President Trump emphasized the necessity for the United States to lead all nations in energy production, highlighting that an increase in energy output is critical to support advancements in AI technology. According to Trump, the energy demand associated with the progress of AI is anticipated to be double the current level.

During the signing of the presidential order to establish the National Energy Council, U.S. Secretary of the Interior Dag Bergem underscored the intense competition between the United States and China in the AI sector. He indicated that the key to prevailing in this contest is through enhanced energy production.

The newly formed National Energy Council will be tasked with developing policies to facilitate the growth and licensing of energy resources, which is crucial for maintaining the United States’ competitive edge in both energy production and technological advancement.
