Sudanese PM Prioritizes Health Care for Elderly Shelters

On Sunday, Prime Minister Mohamed Shi’a Al-Sudani announced plans to address the medical and health care needs of shelters while unveiling a project to construct new facilities with modern specifications.

In an evening gathering that coincided with the breaking of the fast during Ramadan, the Prime Minister engaged with elderly residents from Al-Rashad and Al-Sulaikh care facilities. This initiative highlights the government’s commitment to enhancing welfare services for vulnerable populations.

During this gathering, Al-Sudani extended his Ramadan greetings to attendees and voiced aspirations for the month to be one of abundance and goodness for all citizens. He made it clear that he is attentive to the needs of the elderly, directing his administration to adequately address their concerns and resolve any administrative or service-related issues they may face.

The Prime Minister acknowledged the vital work performed by employees in these facilities, emphasizing their profound humanitarian contributions that extend beyond their official duties. He assured stakeholders of his ongoing commitment to meeting the requirements of these establishments, which includes not only regular assessments but also programs for visitation and travel, along with arrangements for the performance of Umrah rituals for residents.

Al-Sudani underscored the importance of ensuring comprehensive care and improving living conditions in these housing facilities, reiterating that efforts will continue to advance their current state.

In his directive, the Prime Minister called for the fulfillment of all medical and health-related needs of the shelters and announced impending plans for the construction of modern facilities that will enhance the comfort and welfare of residents.

The Prime Minister also acknowledged the contributions of volunteers at Dar Al-Hanan for orphans, instructing that they be transitioned into full-time roles to better serve the residents.
