The Ministry of Oil has announced significant progress regarding the extension of the dry gas pipeline to the Basma power station. This advancement was communicated in a statement issued on Tuesday.
According to the Ministry, a field visit to the project was undertaken by Hayyan Abdel-Ghani Al-Sawad, the Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and Minister of Oil, alongside Izzat Saber Ismail, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil for Gas Affairs, and Ali Ward Hammoud, the Director General of the Oil Projects Company. The pipeline will extend for 43 kilometers, facilitating a capacity of 800 million standard cubic feet of gas.
During the inspection, Ismail highlighted the dedication of the national workforce within the Ministry of Oil, noting that substantial progress has been made in executing project phases. He expressed commitment to completing the project as per the established timelines, which is vital for bolstering dry gas supplies to electrical stations—aligning with governmental objectives to enhance electric energy availability in Iraq.
Moreover, Ismail commended the efforts of the Oil Projects Company team, which has effectively segmented the project into three geographical sections to ensure swift completion within a designated timeframe of 120 days.
