The Ministry of Construction, Housing, and Public Municipalities is actively advancing the rehabilitation project for the Baiji – Al-Sharqat Junction road located in Salah al-Din Governorate, as of Tuesday.
According to official statements, the project spans a total distance of 53 kilometers for the second segment and 23 kilometers for the first segment. It is undertaken under the oversight of the Ministry of Roads and Bridges, with the current completion rate standing at 30%.
This initiative is deemed a vital strategic endeavor, as it facilitates the connection between Baghdad and the northern governorates. Additionally, it aims to enhance road safety by decreasing traffic accidents and ensuring the safety of travelers.
Project activities include resurfacing damaged asphalt layers and restoring two layers enhanced with polymer. Furthermore, the project involves the installation of traffic signs and the maintenance of bridge joints along the road’s path.
