Economic Update – Baghdad
On Monday, the Ministry of Agriculture announced the commencement of activities related to Law 24 of 2025, aimed at the rental of agricultural lands.
According to the ministry, this initiative was launched under the direction of Minister of Agriculture Abbas Jabr al-Maliki and is being closely monitored by Ali Hammoud Al-Shammari, the Director General of the Agricultural Lands Department. This effort is in accordance with the official document No. (10826) for the year 2025, which facilitates the implementation of the agricultural land leasing law effective from the date of the document’s issuance.
Furthermore, the ministry highlighted that this development follows the issuance of instructions No. (1) for the year 2025, detailing the technical matrix for agricultural land rental allowances. These allowances comply with Law No. (24) of 2024, which was sanctioned by the Council of Ministers under Resolution No. (76) of 2025.
