Baghdad Governor Unveils Four Key Development Projects in Maysan

Economy News – Baghdad

The Governor of Maysan, Habib Zahir Al-Fartousi, has announced the commencement of four critical infrastructure projects in the governorate. This initiative aims to enhance the living conditions and services available to residents.

In a formal statement, Al-Fartousi highlighted that the new projects come as part of a broader reconstruction and service enhancement campaign within Maysan Governorate. This campaign is supported by budgets allocated for regional development and petro-dollar revenues. The first among these projects involves the construction of 115 low-cost housing units, designed to assist underprivileged and marginalized segments of the population.

Furthermore, a cornerstone was laid for the first “Mercy Project,” specifically aimed at supporting low-income residents of the region. Additionally, two major projects involving sidewalks and tilapia, along with the construction of a youth sports stadium, were also initiated within the second Al-Rahma neighborhood. This area is designated for low-income families and those facing housing challenges.

Al-Fartousi emphasized that these neighborhoods have historically been underserved and deprived of essential public services. With the initiation of these projects, he reaffirmed the government’s commitment to investing in multiple sectors, including healthcare, education, and housing, to facilitate comprehensive community development.
