Economy Update – Investment Landscape
On the inaugural day of the Leip Technical Conference 2025, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia secured investments totaling $14.9 billion in the artificial intelligence sector.
In collaboration with Aramco Digital, Groq has announced a significant investment of $1.5 billion aimed at enhancing its cloud computing capabilities fueled by artificial intelligence.
Additionally, machinery firms Two and Wonovo have committed to investing $2 billion in the development of an advanced manufacturing and technology center, which will incorporate artificial intelligence and robotics within the Kingdom.
Google has unveiled investment plans to enhance the digital infrastructure for artificial intelligence, geared towards meeting both regional and global demand. Furthermore, Qualcomm has made its linguistic model accessible via the Coalkka cloud, further bolstering the artificial intelligence landscape.
In a related initiative, Alibaba Cloud has introduced a program dedicated to advancing artificial intelligence capabilities in Saudi Arabia, in partnership with the Tuwaiq and STC academies to train local talents.
Databricks is set to invest $300 million to develop integrated Platform as a Service (PaaS) offerings, empowering application developers to drive innovation. Meanwhile, Sambanova plans to allocate $140 million to establish a robust artificial intelligence infrastructure within the Kingdom.
In collaboration with GDH, KKR has announced an investment aimed at developing databases capable of handling 300 megawatts of power.
Salesforce is committing $500 million to build the Hyperforce platform in Saudi Arabia, catering to the company’s clientele in the region. Additionally, Tencent Cloud is investing $150 million to launch the first cloud region in the Middle East, also based in Saudi Arabia and powered by artificial intelligence.
### Leip Technical Conference 2025
The “Leip Technical Conference 2025,” organized by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology in conjunction with the Saudi Federation for Cyber Security, Programming and Drones, and the Alliance company—a joint effort between the Federation and a global partner—attracts participation from 18 countries.
The event features over 1,000 international speakers and experts, 1,800 exhibitors, approximately 680 startups, and awards totaling over $1 million.
