Economic Update – Baghdad
On Thursday, Prime Minister Muhammad Shi’a Al-Sudani articulated Iraq’s potential in leveraging its abundance of resources and strategic geographical positioning to establish partnerships with industrial and commercial nations.
During his official visit to Prague, the Prime Minister met with Czech President Peter Pavlil. The discussions primarily focused on enhancing cooperation across various sectors and fostering the development of bilateral relations that would benefit both nations.
According to the statement from the Prime Minister’s office, Al-Sudani emphasized that Iraq’s success in overcoming terrorism has paved the way for the implementation of comprehensive development plans and the initiation of collaborative partnerships with European allies.
He underscored that Iraq is endowed with both natural and human resources, coupled with a geographical location that makes it an attractive partner for industrial and commercial enterprises, including those from the Czech Republic. The Prime Minister expressed a strong interest in welcoming Czech companies to operate within Iraq.
Al-Sudani further reiterated Iraq’s commitment to fostering peace and upholding security through collaboration with regional and international partners, highlighting that stability in the Middle East has a positive impact on global security dynamics.
In response, President Pavlil acknowledged the significance of Al-Sudani’s visit as a pivotal step toward strengthening relations and laying the groundwork for meaningful partnerships. He noted the importance of regular bilateral visits to enhance cooperation, recognizing Iraq’s central role in the geopolitical landscape of the Middle East and the necessity for coordination aimed at fostering security, stability, and conflict resolution.
