Finance Minister Taif Sami: Pioneering Non-Oil Revenue Reforms for Economic Sustainability in Iraq

Finance Minister Taif Sami reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to implement essential financial reforms aimed at bolstering non-oil revenues during a meeting on Wednesday.

According to a statement from the Ministry, Minister Sami engaged in discussions with several members of the House of Representatives at the ministry’s headquarters. The meeting focused on addressing various requests from both the deputies and citizens, along with evaluating the execution of the public budget. Among the topics covered were the monitoring of allocations for service and development projects, in addition to identifying strategies for supporting productive sectors and securing the necessary resources to enhance public services.

The Minister underscored the Ministry’s determination to pursue financial reforms that enhance non-oil revenue streams and promote financial sustainability in alignment with established government programs.

In their response, the parliamentary delegation acknowledged the Ministry’s efforts in managing financial matters and stressed the importance of collaboration to achieve overarching economic objectives.

The parliamentary group that participated in the meeting included Manal Al-Muslimawi, Rafik Al-Salhi, Luqman Al-Rashidi, Mudar Al-Karaki, Hassan Al-Masoudi, Fatima Al-Hawi, Ola Al-Nashi, Sarah Al-Dulaimi, Mona Al-Jubouri, Faisal Al-Nahili, Wafaa Al-Shammari, Suhail Al-Sultani, Mustafa Al-Karawi, Amal Al-Nasiri, Osama Al-Badri, and Ahmed Rashid Salmani, alongside Ngimish Al-Gharbawi and Mahasin Al-Dulaimi, who are also key members in the discussion.
