DS05 Oil Station Resumes Operations After Major Fire in Rumaila

Economy Update – Baghdad

An insider in the oil sector has confirmed that operations at the DS05 oil station in the northern Rumaila field are gradually resuming following a significant fire incident involving one of its storage tanks.

The source indicated that production recommenced on February 26, 2025, with a capacity of 190,000 barrels per day, following the successful rehabilitation of storage pipe No. 3.

Furthermore, technical teams have successfully initiated the experimental operation of the wet oil unit at the D&D station, which has a capacity of 30,000 barrels per day.

This station experienced a substantial fire affecting one of its tanks, leading to significant material losses and raising concerns about potential impacts on oil production in the Rumaila field, one of Iraq’s largest oil fields.

The investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
