Business Economy Insights – Update
Chinese tech giant Tencent has unveiled its latest artificial intelligence model, the Hunyuan Turbo S, which boasts the capability to respond to inquiries in under one second. This newly developed system stands apart from earlier models such as Deepseek’s R1 and Tencent’s own Hunyuan T1, which are characterized as exhibiting slower, more deliberative thinking processes.
Initial testing indicates that the Hunyuan Turbo S demonstrates superior performance across various domains, including general knowledge, sports, and accessories, particularly when compared to Deepseek’s V3 model.
The widespread success of Deepseek’s AI models, particularly in Silicon Valley, has sparked a rush among Chinese companies, including Tencent, to introduce competitive artificial intelligence solutions following the advancements made by OpenAI with ChatGPT at the end of 2022.
Notably, just a month ago, as Deepseek’s models began gaining global traction, shares in the artificial intelligence sector outside China experienced a notable decline.
In a parallel move, Alibaba has launched its own artificial intelligence model, claiming enhanced performance compared to Deepseek’s V3, adding further competition to this rapidly evolving market.
