Economic Overview – Baghdad
According to the US Energy Information Administration (EIA), Iraq’s oil exports to the United States exceeded 6 million barrels in January.
The EIA reported that “Iraq exported a total of 6.231 million barrels of crude oil to the United States in January, marking a decrease from December’s figure of 6.696 million barrels.”
The report detailed the weekly averages, indicating that “Iraq averaged 152,000 barrels per day in the first week of December, 218,000 barrels per day in the second week, and 336,000 barrels per day in the third week, while exports in the fourth week declined to an average of 99,000 barrels per day.”
The EIA also noted that “Iraq ranked sixth in oil exports to the United States last month, following Canada, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, Colombia, and Venezuela.”
Moreover, the data indicated that “Iraq stood as the second-largest Arab nation in oil exports to the US, only behind Saudi Arabia, which exported 11.997 million barrels, while Libya ranked third.”
