The Society of Exporters of Animal and Fish Products has announced that Iraq has achieved the top position in exports of animal products.
Ali Jan Yaman Yilmaz, the Vice President of the Association, reported that Turkey’s exports of animal food reached $3.86 billion in 2024, reflecting a 10.8% increase compared to the previous year.
He noted that the most in-demand products in export markets over the past year included fresh and refrigerated fish, poultry meat, and fish slices. Additionally, Iraq, Russia, and Italy ranked as the top three countries for animal product exports.
Furthermore, Yilmaz highlighted that the fish wealth sector and animal products contributed 1.7% of Iraq’s total exports, which amounted to $262 billion in 2024.
