On Friday, Electricity Minister Ziyad Ali Fadel emphasized the critical importance of completing maintenance tasks according to established timelines in anticipation of the upcoming summer heat.
In a recent statement, the Minister’s office detailed his discussions with officials from the American General Electric Company (GE) regarding the progress of maintenance activities for electrical stations, which are part of a long-term maintenance contract between the two entities.
The contract with GE includes periodic maintenance for approximately 14 electrical stations across various Iraqi governorates, alongside the provision of essential spare parts for the operating equipment. This initiative is aimed at ensuring sustained operational efficiency at these stations.
The Minister reiterated the urgency of intensifying efforts to conclude maintenance work within the agreed timelines as the electricity demand typically peaks during the summer months.
