Dollar Surges Past 100K Tomans: Impact on Iran’s Economy

Economy News – Follow-up

The exchange rate of the US dollar in the open market in Tehran has surpassed 100,000 tomans today, marking a significant milestone as it now exceeds 10 million tomans for transactions involving $100.

A merchant operating within the Tehran market reported that the dollar was purchased for 99,500 tomans and is currently being sold at 100,000 tomans.

This surge in the dollar’s value follows a statement from US President Donald Trump, who attributed responsibility for recent attacks by Houthi forces in Yemen to Iran’s leadership.
