Baghdad’s Ministry of Industry Unveils New Electronic Service to Streamline Material Provision for Mixed and Private Sectors

Economy News – Baghdad

The Ministry of Industry and Minerals has announced the forthcoming launch of a new electronic service aimed at streamlining the procurement of materials, set to take effect next month. This initiative will extend its services to the mixed sector, facilitating access to essential materials.

According to Ammar Al-Janabi, the scientific advisor to the ministry, this service is designed to enhance communication through official correspondence with the Ministry regarding the availability of specific materials necessary for purchase, adhering to the stipulations of the budget law. Al-Janabi emphasized that this issue has been a persistent challenge across various ministries, presenting opportunities for manipulation.

The new service will encompass the mixed and private sectors within the public sector, with plans to launch it in the upcoming month. Responses will be provided electronically to the technical and investment departments, ensuring integration with the Department of Industrial Development responsible for the private sector and the Federation of Industries. Al-Janabi also noted that the technical department, overseeing the formations of the Ministry, will soon become operational, committing to provide responses within a one-day timeframe.

Al-Janabi highlighted that the primary objective of this service is to minimize bureaucratic delays and expedite transaction completion. He remarked, “Time equates to money; extensive delays can lead to the wastage of public funds. Our aim is to curtail this inefficiency, ultimately promising a direct response to inquiries within 24 hours.”
