Economic Developments – Baghdad
On Saturday, Ziad Ali Fadel, the Minister of Electricity, conducted an inspection of the complaints and maintenance centers in Baghdad to assess the preparedness of maintenance teams in responding to any emergencies.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Electricity, Minister Fadel’s inspection tour covered the Karkh complaints center (157) and the Northern Karkh control center. This visit was particularly timely, given the heavy rainfall that Baghdad experienced on Friday and Saturday.
During his field visit, the minister evaluated the service delivery levels and the mechanisms in place for responding to citizen inquiries. He also confirmed the readiness of the maintenance crews to address any contingencies that may arise from the severe weather conditions.
Furthermore, the minister inspected the Al-Bayaa sector and its maintenance center, where he acknowledged the exceptional efforts of the teams in quickly addressing issues and restoring services despite the challenges posed by the heavy rains. He instructed that these working groups be rewarded for their dedication.
The Minister of Electricity emphasized the importance of continued mobilization of ministry staff to effectively manage the impacts of the rain in Baghdad and across the provinces.
