The General Cereal Trading Company, under the Ministry of Trade, has announced the initiation of a significant project aimed at constructing 15 silos for wheat storage in Anbar.

Haider Nuri, the General Manager of the company, stated that the cornerstone of this 15-silo project was laid recently, following directives from Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani and Minister of Commerce Atheer Al-Ghuiri. This milestone event occurred at the Al-Makhzini complex in Anbar, highlighting a coordinated effort between local governance and the ministry.

Nuri emphasized the significance of Anbar Governorate as a major wheat-producing region, noting that this marks the first phase of a broader initiative. An additional project is set to commence within 20 days, which will involve the construction of a 60,000-ton metal silo in the Alaa district.

According to Nuri, the province is vital in the production of various foodstuffs, and with substantial wheat supplies currently available, there is an urgent need for enhanced storage capabilities.
