The Minister of Electricity, Ziad Ali Fadel, reaffirmed on Monday the ministry’s commitment to executing a comprehensive strategic plan aimed at effectively addressing the energy challenges and accommodating the growing demand.
According to a statement from the Minister’s office, Ziad Ali Fadel convened an extensive meeting at the ministry’s headquarters with representatives from the KPR consulting firm, which collaborates with the Ministry of Planning. This meeting included senior officials from both the electricity and planning ministries.
The discussions focused on an in-depth review of the ministry’s electricity sector development strategy, including modernization and enhancement plans across three critical domains: production, transmission, and distribution.
The Minister emphasized the importance of an integrated strategic approach to fundamentally resolve the energy crisis while acknowledging the sector’s current challenges. He stated, “The ministry is dedicated to diversifying energy sources and prioritizing renewable energy initiatives.”
Consulting experts presented their insights into global best practices for upgrading electricity infrastructure, contributing to the meeting’s constructive dialogue.
The meeting concluded with an agreement to strengthen collaborative mechanisms and establish clearer future steps for implementing the proposed projects in line with the outlined plans.
