On Thursday, the Ministry of Education categorically denied reports concerning the potential investment of the Mosul forests.
In an official statement, the ministry clarified that the rumors regarding the referral of the Mosul forests for investment and development are unfounded. It emphasized that the preservation of green spaces and cultural heritage is paramount and cannot be jeopardized.
The ministry reassured the residents of Nineveh that it has been actively working for several weeks to allocate suitable plots of land for residential developments aimed at educators, acknowledging their contributions to the educational sector across all provinces of Iraq. Similar provisions have already been made for educators in Muthanna, and the ministry is initiating similar efforts in Nineveh.
Furthermore, the ministry expressed its commitment to adhere to all relevant regulations and legal procedures to ensure that forest areas remain protected.
Additionally, the Ministry of Education confirmed that it has received correspondence from the National Investment Authority regarding the development of forest areas, ensuring that such developments align with urban planning and environmental standards.
