Resumption of Operations at DS05 Oil Station in Rumaila Field
Recent developments indicate a gradual resumption of operations at the DS05 oil station located in the northern Rumaila field, following a significant fire that impacted one of its tanks.
As of February 26, 2025, the station has recommenced activities, achieving a production capacity of 190,000 barrels per day after successfully rehabilitating storage pipe No. 3.
In addition, technical teams have initiated the experimental operation of the wet oil unit at the D&D station, which has a capacity of 30,000 barrels per day.
The fire incident, which led to substantial material losses, raised concerns regarding its potential impact on oil production levels within the Rumaila field, one of Iraq’s largest oil reserves.
The investigation into the causes of the fire is currently ongoing.
