Economy News – Update
On Sunday, Chinese tech company Bido introduced two new artificial intelligence models, including a model designed for inference, positioning itself as a competitor to the Deepseek model in the intensifying artificial intelligence landscape.
Deepseek’s launch of advanced AI models, which are claimed to rival or even exceed the performance of leading U.S. models at significantly lower costs, has generated considerable buzz within the industry, reinvigorating the global AI competition.
The Ernie X1 model from Bido purportedly delivers performance on par with the Deepseek R1 but at half the cost. Furthermore, the X1 boasts enhanced capabilities in understanding, planning, reasoning, and development, marking it as the first deep thinking model capable of utilizing tools independently.
Bido’s latest first-generation model, Ernie 4.5, is recognized for its exceptional multimedia comprehension abilities. It features advanced linguistic skills, along with notable improvements in understanding, generation, logical reasoning, and memory functionality.
The new model is also highlighted for its “high emotional intelligence,” allowing it to effectively interpret subtle visual cues and animated content.
Bido has been among the pioneering Chinese technology firms to unveil a conversational robot akin to the widely known GBT Chat. However, the company faced challenges in achieving widespread adoption of its “Erney” model, despite claims of comparable performance to OpenAI’s models amidst rising competition.
Multimedia intelligent systems like these can process and integrate diverse data types—including text, video, images, and audio—effectively converting information across various formats.
