Iraq’s Oil Exports to India Approach One Million Barrels Per Day

Recent statistics from S&P indicate that Iraq has secured the position of second-largest oil supplier to India, with an average of 950,000 barrels per day recorded in 2024.

The data further reveals that Russia leads as the primary crude oil exporter to India, with exports averaging 1.7 million barrels per day. Saudi Arabia ranks third, exporting an average of 650,000 barrels per day.

Historically, Iraq has been a major source of crude oil for India, supplying approximately 65 percent of its total oil exports to Asia, particularly to India and China, before 2023.
