Exchange Rate and Gold Prices in Iraq: An Overview
The current exchange rate for the US dollar stands at 149,400 Iraqi Dinars for every 100 US Dollars.
In terms of gold pricing, Abdullah Akram, the Deputy President of the Erbil Jewels Union, reported that the price for 24-carat gold is currently 715,000 dinars, while 22-carat gold is valued at 655,000 dinars. Additionally, 18-carat gold is priced at 535,000 dinars.
Gold prices have exhibited fluctuations, with recent quotes being 591,000 dinars for 22-carat and 668,000 dinars for 24-carat gold. Conversely, 18-carat gold has seen a price of 500,000 dinars.
When comparing current prices to the beginning of the year, it is notable that the price per gram of gold has increased by 60,000 dinars.
On a global scale, gold prices have seen a slight decline of 0.4%, settling at $2,900 per ounce. Tim Waterer, an analyst at KCM Trade, attributes this decrease to investors taking profits following recent peaks. Furthermore, Waterer suggests that the ongoing uncertainty in global markets may bolster gold prices in the near future, hinting that the value of this precious metal could approach new historical highs.
