Urgent: Federal Finance to Fund February Salaries for Kurdistan

Federal Funding for Kurdistan Salaries to Commence Soon

An informed source has disclosed that the Federal Ministry of Finance is poised to initiate funding for the salaries of employees in the Kurdistan region within the next two days.

The source indicated that the payroll lists submitted by the regional government have undergone audit verification, paving the way for salary disbursement. It has been confirmed that the Federal Ministry of Finance will allocate an amount of 950 billion dinars to cover the salaries for February, after which the Kurdistan government is expected to announce a payment schedule for these salaries.

On March 1, 2025, a responsible Kurdish source highlighted that the Ministry of Finance aims to dispatch February salaries to employees in the region by the middle of the following week. However, concerns were raised regarding the existing agreement between the central government and the Kurdistan region.

The source expressed apprehension stating, "The Kurdistan government has not complied with the agreement terms with Baghdad, which may lead to complications regarding salary payments."

In parallel, Ribwar Muhammad Amin, a member of the Kurdistan Justice Party, confirmed the federal banks’ willingness to facilitate the localization of salaries for Kurdistan employees, echoing his expectations of governmental coordination in this process.

As the situation develops, stakeholders will be closely monitoring compliance with agreements and the timely distribution of funds, crucial for the financial stability of the region’s workforce.
