Economy Update – Defense Deals
The Ministry of Defense of the United Arab Emirates has announced the successful conclusion of ten agreements by the Balance Council on the third day of the International Defence Exhibition (IDEX 2025) and the Naval Defense Exhibition (Navx 2025). The total value of these agreements stands at 10.18 billion dirhams (approximately 2.8 billion dollars), as reported on their official account on the X platform.
Details of the agreements indicated that seven local deals were signed, amounting to 9.66 billion dirhams, in addition to three international contracts worth 523 million dirhams.
In total, the Balance Council has facilitated 19.95 billion dirhams in agreements over the three days of the exhibitions.
On the first day of the events, the Balance Council endorsed 13 agreements valued at 3.97 billion dirhams, followed by five deals on the second day worth 5.8 billion dirhams.
As an independent government entity, the Balance Council collaborates closely with the Ministry of Defense and the UAE’s security services. It is tasked with overseeing defense and security procurement on behalf of these bodies, ensuring that all acquisitions align with national security interests, as outlined on the Council’s website.
