Turkey’s Grain Exports to Iraq Surge 130% Over 15 Years, Eyeing $2 Billion by 2030

The Turkish Grain Association based in southeastern Turkey has reported that exports to Iraq have experienced substantial growth, rising by 130% over the past 15 years.

“We are committed to enhancing our active initiative in 2024, which focuses on strengthening cooperation between Turkey and Iraq while increasing trade volumes,” stated a representative from the organization.

He further elaborated, “In 2009, we exported grains worth $521 million to Iraq, and this figure has grown by 130% over the last 15 years, reaching approximately $1.15 billion.”

Additionally, he highlighted that “the association has set an ambitious export target of $2 billion to Iraq by 2030.”
