On Thursday, Prime Minister Mohamed Shi’a Al-Sudani underscored the critical importance of optimizing investment in the communications sector. He emphasized the sector’s potential to enhance state revenues through strategic development and alignment with governmental initiatives.
The Prime Minister’s office announced that Al-Sudani met with the newly appointed president of the Media and Communications Authority, Nofal Hilal Abu Ragheef, to discuss the agency’s pivotal role in guiding media operations. The Prime Minister highlighted that the organization is essential in achieving the national vision, which focuses on utilizing media as a tool for promoting security, societal stability, and sustainable development opportunities.
Al-Sudani reiterated the necessity for effective investment in the communications sector, advocating for its advancement to ensure it substantially contributes to maximizing state resources, consistent with government directives in this domain.
Further, Al-Sudani referenced the recent decision by the cabinet to approve the establishment of a National Mobile Company, along with the introduction of fifth-generation technology in conjunction with the International Vodafone Company.
