Student Scholarships for University Families Launched by Ministry

The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs has announced the initiation of a student scholarship program aimed at university students from families benefiting from social protection support, covering the months of October, November, and January 2024.

Dr. Ahmed Al-Mousawi, head of the Social Protection Authority, highlighted that the initial phase of fund distribution will target students enrolled in various universities, including Al-Mustansiriya, Diyala, River, Muthanna, Mosul, Karbala, Baghdad, the North, Central Technology, Carking for Science, Ibn Sina for Medical Sciences, Pharmacy, Technology University, and the University of Babylon.

Dr. Al-Mousawi emphasized that the disbursement will occur in successive batches, urging students eligible for the scholarship to visit the administrative offices in their respective colleges to collect their financial assistance.

Furthermore, he indicated that the tripartite budget law has allocated a monthly grant of 100,000 dinars for undergraduate students and 150,000 dinars for those pursuing master’s or doctoral degrees. He reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to supporting low-income families, alleviating their financial burdens, and enhancing access to higher education for their children.
