Nawfal Abu Ragheef, the head of the Media and Communications Authority, along with Communications Minister Hayam Al-Yasiri, has underscored the critical need for enhanced cooperation aimed at advancing Iraq’s telecommunications sector.
In a meeting held at the headquarters of the Media and Communications Authority in Baghdad, Minister Al-Yasiri extended his congratulations to Abu Ragheef upon his new appointment. The meeting also included the President of the Council of Commissioners, Bassem Salem, and members of the Council, including Ahmed Al-Hassani, Aws Al-Awadi, and Dana Asaad, as well as the technical assistant to the head of the commission, Muhammad Al-Gharabawi.
Both leaders emphasized the importance of strengthening collaborative efforts, focusing on the development of the telecommunications sector and fostering institutional integration to provide enhanced services to citizens.
Abu Ragheef highlighted the urgency of expediting the fourth national license project in accordance with recent resolutions by the Council of Ministers. He noted that swiftly initiating field operations under this license and expanding its services is a top priority, alongside promoting fair competition within the telecommunications market in Iraq.
The head of the Media and Communications Authority reiterated the commission’s dedication to fortifying partnerships with government institutions, aiming for progress in the media and communications sector that adheres to contemporary international standards.
