Finance Minister Taif Sami underscored the significance of maintaining a robust partnership with the World Bank during a meeting today. The session was aimed at fortifying economic collaboration between Iraq and the World Bank, addressing critical financial stability issues and the pursuit of sustainable development projects.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Finance, Minister Taif Sami welcomed Jean-Christophe Carre, the World Bank’s representative to Iraq, along with his delegation, to deliberate on enhancing bilateral financial cooperation.

Discussions included an array of pivotal topics aimed at bolstering Iraq’s financial stability and reviewing development initiatives that both parties are committed to implementing for sustainable growth.

Minister Sami emphasized Iraq’s desire to leverage the technical and financial support offered by the World Bank to help execute strategic projects that will drive economic growth and create employment opportunities, particularly in sectors such as infrastructure and human development.

In response, the World Bank representative affirmed the institution’s dedication to supporting Iraq’s development ambitions, highlighting the organization’s focus on strengthening Iraq’s capacity to address economic challenges while ensuring the sustainability of developmental gains.
