Revolutionizing Oil: Central Oil Company Launches AI Well Monitoring

Central Oil Company Leverages AI Technology to Transform Oil Well Monitoring

On February 27, 2025, the Central Oil Company, in collaboration with the Chinese enterprise EBS, successfully launched an integrated application designed to monitor individual oil wells through advanced artificial intelligence capabilities.

In a statement, the Central Oil Company noted that this initiative represents an unprecedented advancement within Iraq’s oil sector, effectively addressing traditional challenges associated with manual inspections that often resulted in delayed problem identification and response.

This new application, implemented in the eastern Baghdad field of the southern region, offers continuous, round-the-clock monitoring. It accelerates the identification of issues to mere minutes, enhances risk assessment, and provides actionable recommendations. Notably, the application is also compatible with smartphones, facilitating ease of access and usability.

This accomplishment marks a significant milestone in the modernization efforts of the Central Oil Company, aimed at enhancing productivity, reducing operational costs, and promoting environmental sustainability through strategic collaborations with industry operators.
