Economy Update – Baghdad
Dr. Abdel Latif Jamal Rashid, the President of the Republic, stated that efforts must be directed towards making Basra Governorate a more appealing environment for business and investment.
In a recent meeting held at the Baghdad Palace, the President engaged with Basra Governor Asaad Al-Eidani to assess the overall security, economic, and political conditions in the region.
Dr. Rashid highlighted that Basra, due to its strategic geographical location, has substantial potential to attract business ventures and investments. He emphasized that realizing this potential demands concerted efforts to foster economic growth that aligns with the area’s cultural and social landscapes.
He underscored the critical need for consolidating security stability within the province while prioritizing enhancements to the city’s infrastructure. Additionally, he called for an emphasis on vital and investment projects that would facilitate sustainable and comprehensive development.
