Prime Minister Al-Sudani Meets President Barzani to Discuss Economic Cooperation

On Saturday, Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani engaged in discussions with the President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani. The focus of their dialogue revolved around pivotal national matters and the ongoing implementation of the government program across various sectors.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister emphasized the necessity of advancing joint agreements, particularly in light of the recent amendments to the General Federal Budget Law passed by the House of Representatives. He articulated the importance of these developments in serving national interests, bolstering the Iraqi economy, and addressing the needs of the populace. Al-Sudani also urged the prompt resumption of oil production and export by oil companies in the Kurdistan region through Turkey’s Jihan Port.

In response, President Barzani expressed commitment to maintaining open lines of communication and cooperation with the federal government. He underscored the importance of enhanced coordination in service delivery and economic development, which are essential for achieving stability in the region.
