PM Al-Sudani Invites Czech Business Leaders to Explore Investment Opportunities in Iraq

On Thursday, Prime Minister Muhammad Shi’a Al-Sudani extended a formal invitation to the Union of Czech Industries and Chambers, encouraging Czech CEOs and business leaders to consider visiting Iraq.

According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s media office, today’s meeting included Prime Minister Al-Sudani and his Czech counterpart, Peter Vala. The gathering also featured the President of the Iraqi Chamber of Commerce and the President of the Federation of Industries in Iraq, along with their counterparts from the Czech Republic, accompanied by ambassadors from both nations and the Vice President of the National Investment Authority.

During the meeting, both parties discussed the establishment of a joint business council aimed at enhancing collaboration between businessmen from both countries. They also explored the foundational aspects of visa issuance and measures to facilitate the entry of investors into Iraq and the Czech Republic.

Both leaders underscored their commitment to bolstering the private sector in their respective nations, aiming to capitalize on investment opportunities across diverse fields in Iraq. The Prime Minister articulated the significance of Czech companies operating in Iraq, particularly highlighting their expertise in construction, as the country aims to develop a million housing units.

Furthermore, he emphasized the necessity of forming a preparatory committee consisting of industrial officials from both countries to coordinate bilateral efforts and host an exhibition for Czech enterprises in Baghdad. He reinforced his invitation to the Union of Czech Industries, Czech Chambers, and business representatives to make the trip to Iraq.
