Kazakhstan’s Minister of Energy has affirmed that the country will not adjust its pre-established oil production plans prior to this important meeting. The government has set a production target of at least 96 million tons of oil for the current year.

The Minister highlighted that Kazakhstan possesses various regulatory mechanisms to manage production, including the authority to limit output in its own fields and engage in negotiations with major stakeholders aimed at reducing production levels to stabilize the market.

The Minister noted that any final decision regarding changes to production levels will follow the collaborative discussions at the OPEC+ meeting.

In 2022, Kazakhstan recorded an oil production figure of 87.7 million tons. Additionally, the Ministry of Energy recently revised its oil production forecast for 2025, lowering expectations from 97.2 million tons to 96.2 million tons.
