The Oil Products Distribution Company has announced a remarkable achievement, reporting the sale of over 11 billion liters of gasoline throughout the year 2024. This milestone reflects the company’s commitment to enhancing its operational efficiency and overall productivity.
In a formal statement, the company highlighted its achievements, noting significant advancements in both primary and secondary operations. The success in fuel sales, equipment utilization, and inspection capabilities has surpassed previous years, demonstrating a robust growth trajectory.
To facilitate these results, the company implemented electronic automation, transitioning from traditional paper payments to an electronic payment system across its distribution outlets. This modernization effort has been accompanied by the introduction of complementary services, further increasing the sale of oil products in compliance with standard specifications. Additionally, the company expanded the involvement of the private sector in distribution processes to better serve both citizens and various state and private sector entities.
The report indicates that the total volume of gasoline sales encompassed multiple types, with the following breakdown:
Product Type | Sales Volume (Liters) |
---|---|
Gasoline (Normal, Improved, Super) | 11,382,000,000 |
White Oil | 1,768,000,000 |

This impressive productivity was achieved through distribution outlets strategically located across various governorates. The figures also reflect sales made through electronic cards and include supplies to government departments, private sector organizations, and investment companies, along with provisions for displaced persons and fuel for the Ministry of Electricity.
Furthermore, the company reported a total productive capacity for all governorates reaching approximately 1 billion and 104 million cubic meters/km, facilitated by its extensive fleet of tankers responsible for transporting oil derivatives nationwide.
The company detailed the existence of 125 outlets dedicated to the distribution of liquid gas (LPG), categorized into both public and government-operated units. Out of these, 72 are affiliated with the distribution company while 53 are operated by a gas filling company. Additional stations are being developed to further increase outlet availability in the near future.
In terms of LPG consumption, over 327 million liters were dispensed from distribution and gas packing outlets across Iraq during 2024, underscoring the rising demand for liquid gas among consumers.
Moreover, the Inspection Authority has made significant strides in countering fuel smuggling, conducting 149,239 inspections across various locations and seizing 117 violative operations.
