Economic Update – Baghdad
The Minister of Natural Resources for the Kurdistan Region, Kamal Muhammad, has announced that all barriers to the resumption of oil exports have been addressed, indicating a potential restart of exports prior to March.
Kamal Muhammad stated, “All obstacles were removed, and the export of oil can be resumed before March.”
He further clarified that the President of the Republic has signed the amendment to the budget law, which now only awaits publication to become enforceable.
“While there is no requirement for the oil exports to resume specifically in March, it is feasible that they could commence before that date. The legal arrangements are complete, and we face no technical difficulties,” he emphasized.
However, he noted that “the Turkish side should also be prepared to facilitate the resumption of exports.”
Kamal Muhammad revealed that “a delegation from the Federal Oil Ministry is scheduled to visit Erbil tonight, with discussions set to begin on Tuesday.”
