Economy Update – Baghdad
The Ministry of Commerce announced the completion of its hypermarket branches in Baghdad, with plans to extend these facilities into the Kurdistan Region.
Zahra Al-Kilani, the General Manager of the General Company for Central Markets within the Ministry of Trade, emphasized that the central markets and their locations hold significant interest for Iraqi citizens. She stated, “With the successful completion of our projects in Baghdad, we will initiate expansions in the provinces, commencing from Nineveh and concluding in Basra.”
Al-Kilani further highlighted that there are plans for additional hypermarket branches to be established in the Kurdistan region. She confirmed that all projects in Baghdad are finalized, projecting a total of 150 branches across Iraq.
