Today, Minister of Electricity Ziad Ali Fadel endorsed a significant national contract for the production of 4,026 transformers through collaboration with a local manufacturing firm.
According to a statement from the Minister’s office, this initiative is aimed at bolstering national industrial integration. The contract involves a partnership between the General Company for Central Electricity Distribution and the Diyala Public Company to produce and supply transformers of various electrical capacities, which are critical for both transport and distribution sectors.
The contract, signed by Alaa Samir al-Jubouri, General Manager of the Central Electricity Distribution Company, and Abdul Sattar Khalef Alioui, General Manager of the Diyala General Company, includes the fabrication of the following transformer types:

After the contract was signed, Minister Ziad Ali Fadel remarked that this initiative aligns with directives from the Prime Minister to bolster local industry and generate employment opportunities. He emphasized the Ministry’s commitment to activating agreements with various state institutions, including contracts established with the Military Industrialization Authority.
The Minister also pointed out that the successful collaboration with the Diyala General Company in transformer manufacturing highlights the capacity of the Iraqi industry to fulfill local market demands with high-quality products that adhere to standardized specifications, paving the way for future cooperative ventures.
