Iraqi-Egyptian Supreme Committee Holds Third Session in Baghdad

The Egyptian-Iraqi Supreme Committee convened for its third session in Baghdad, with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani and his Egyptian counterpart Mustafa Madbouly presiding over the discussions. The meeting, which took place today, included key briefings from Minister of Commerce Daoud Al-Ghuiri and Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation Rania Al-Mashat, focusing on enhancing bilateral cooperation across various sectors.

Key Agreements Signed

At the conclusion of the session, several important agreements were documented, including:

  1. A memorandum of understanding for the land transport of people and goods between the transport ministries of Iraq and Egypt.
  2. A memorandum of understanding aimed at fortifying competition and combating monopolistic practices between Iraq’s Council of Competitions and Monopolies and Egypt’s Competition Protection Agency.
  3. A proposed cooperation protocol focusing on local development initiatives between Iraq and Egypt.
  4. A memorandum of understanding between Baghdad Municipality and Cairo Governorate.
  5. A memorandum of understanding regarding antiquities and museums between Iraq’s General Authority for Antiquities and Heritage and Egypt’s Supreme Council of Antiquities.
  6. A memorandum for specific measurement and control between Iraq’s Central Agency for Standardization and Quality Control and Egypt’s General Authority for Standardization and Quality.
  7. A memorandum for collaboration on financial market regulations between Iraq’s Securities Authority and Egypt’s General Authority for Financial Supervision.
  8. The executive program between the culture ministries of both nations for the period 2025-2027.
  9. A memorandum between the Iraqi Books and Documentation House and its counterpart in Egypt.
  10. A memorandum for cooperation in communications and information technology between Iraq’s Media and Communications Authority and Egypt’s National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority.
  11. A draft memorandum concerning the construction, operation, and maintenance of silos, between Iraq’s General Company for Grain Trade and Egypt’s Holding Company for Silos.
  12. A memorandum of understanding facilitating cooperation between the Federation of Iraqi Chambers of Commerce and the General Union of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce.
