Kurdish Finance Delegation in Baghdad: Salary Talks Underway

Negotiations on Salary Localization Between Kurdistan and Federal Finance Authorities

A delegation from the Kurdistan Region’s Ministry of Finance and Economy has arrived in Baghdad to engage in discussions with the Federal Ministry of Finance regarding the localization of February salaries for employees in the region.

According to a knowledgeable source, the delegation is equipped with seven different financing documents related to salary distribution, which encompass a range of categories including retirees, civil servants, military personnel, and social assistance.

An insider report indicates that the Federal Ministry of Finance plans to initiate the funding process for the salaries of Kurdistan Region employees within the next two days. The same source confirmed that the auditing of the lists submitted by the regional government has been completed, paving the way for salary disbursement after addressing previous issues.

The Federal Ministry of Finance is set to allocate a total of 950 billion dinars specifically designated for financing the February salaries. Following this transfer, the Kurdistan Region’s government is expected to announce a schedule for salary disbursement.

This development underscores the ongoing collaboration and negotiation efforts between the regional authorities and the federal government to ensure timely salary payments and address the fiscal needs of public sector employees in the Kurdistan Region.
