Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Finance Update
A reliable source from the KRG Finance Ministry has stated that preparations for the February 2025 salary list are in the final stages and will be forwarded to Baghdad without delay.
On February 23, 2025, a KRG Finance Ministry official indicated that the salary list would be dispatched to Baghdad in the coming days. “As per our schedule, the salary fund is expected to be sent this week. The outcome for this month will be determined prior to the onset of Ramadan,” the official remarked.
The source also refuted any prevalent rumors, asserting, “There are no issues to report.”
The Iraqi Ministry of Finance previously outlined three specific requests directed towards the KRG:
- First: To append the February 2025 salary list and additional months with the employment data of KRG employees, formatted according to the criteria established by the Federal Court.
- Second: To transfer the non-oil revenue for February 2025 to the account designated as (70018) held at the Central Bank of Iraq, not solely the previously communicated decision of 51,895,457,877 dinars.
- Third: To ensure that oil revenues are also deposited into the account of the Iraqi Ministry of Finance identified as (300,900).
At the end of last month, a KRG delegation traveled to Baghdad for discussions with the Iraqi Ministry of Finance aimed at addressing matters concerning the salaries of KRG employees along with other related issues.
During a press briefing in Baghdad on November 3, Finance Minister Awat Sheikh Janab confirmed, “We have reached an agreement with Iraq to process this year’s salary payments without complications.”
