Kirkuk Advances Oil Industry with New Refinery Project

Kirkuk Governor Ribwar Taha Mustafa has announced the establishment of the province’s inaugural oil refinery, following the approval from Prime Minister Mohamed Shi’a Al-Sudani and the Federal Ministry of Oil. In a press conference, Mustafa detailed that Kirkuk has signed a groundbreaking investment contract to develop a refinery with a processing capacity of 70,000 barrels per day. This strategic initiative not only marks a significant step for the local economy but is also poised to generate numerous job opportunities for the youth in the region.

The refinery development will be executed by Rania International Oil Company, which has been designated to bring this project to fruition. The governor emphasized the multiplier effect that this investment will have on the local economy and labor market.
