Iraq’s Wheat Boom: Prime Minister Al-Sudani Announces Major Local Production Success

Iraq’s Prime Minister, Muhammad Shi’a Al-Sudani, announced on Friday that the nation has successfully produced substantial quantities of local wheat following productive agricultural seasons.

In a statement from the Prime Minister’s office, it was disclosed that Prime Minister Al-Sudani met with a delegation from the Class Company, which specializes in agricultural equipment, during the 61st Munich Security Conference.

The Prime Minister commended the company for its successful operations in Iraq, emphasizing the trust it has garnered from Iraqi farmers due to its reliable equipment. He highlighted the strong local market for agricultural machinery, including products from Class Company, and underscored the significance of collaborating with the General Company for Agricultural Equipment, as well as the potential for establishing a local production line.

Al-Sudani reiterated the government’s commitment to bolstering the agricultural sector, which he linked to national food security and its role in enhancing and diversifying the economy. He noted that Iraq is now exporting large quantities of locally-produced wheat, facilitated by ongoing government support for farmers.

The delegation responded by presenting the company’s extensive history in Iraq, expressing a desire to foster a genuine partnership. They also indicated readiness to establish a training center aimed at enhancing the skills of Iraqi workers, alongside a maintenance service center for agricultural machinery.
