Iraq’s Oil Exports to the U.S. in January: A Statistical Overview
The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) has reported that Iraq’s oil exports to the United States exceeded 6 million barrels in January. Specifically, Iraq exported a total of 6.231 million barrels during this period, reflecting a decrease from December’s exports of 6.696 million barrels.
In terms of weekly averages for December, Iraq’s crude oil exports to the U.S. were as follows:
- First week: 152,000 barrels per day
- Second week: 218,000 barrels per day
- Third week: 336,000 barrels per day
- Fourth week: 99,000 barrels per day
This data positions Iraq as the sixth-largest exporter of oil to the U.S. in the preceding month, trailing behind Canada, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, Colombia, and Venezuela.
Notably, Iraq ranked as the second-largest Arab oil exporter to the U.S., following Saudi Arabia, which exported 11.997 million barrels. Libya positioned itself as the third-largest Arab exporter.
