Iraqi Oil Ministry Reports Surge in Associated Gas Production
The Iraqi Ministry of Oil announced on March 13, 2025, that associated gas production from three key fields in Maysan Province has reached significant levels.
According to Ali Shaddad, a spokesperson for the Oil and Gas Committee, the daily output of associated gas has reached 140 million cubic feet from the Al-Bazrakan, Al-Fukha, and Abu West fields. Of this volume, approximately 30 to 35 million cubic feet is utilized for operating electrical stations within these fields. The Ministry’s ongoing efforts aim to further develop and harness additional quantities of associated gas to enhance the operation of electrical power plants.
In addition to gas production, Shaddad noted that the total crude oil production from these fields is currently around 300,000 barrels per day. The Ministry is optimistic about continued rehabilitation and expansion efforts undertaken by the investing companies, aimed at increasing both crude oil and associated gas production capacities.
This development underscores Iraq’s strategic initiatives to optimize its natural resources, enhance energy production, and ensure greater energy security for its infrastructure.
