Iraq’s Khor Al-Zubair Specialized Port Welcomes 11 Oil Tankers
Farhan Al-Fartousi, the Director General of the General Company for Iraq Ports, announced today the successful reception of 11 oil tankers at Khor Al-Zubair Specialized Port. Al-Fartousi emphasized that enhancing revenue generation stands as a primary objective for port operations, stating that the continuous handling of oil tankers and commercial ships plays a vital role in bolstering the country’s resources.
The Khor Al-Zubair port has received a diverse array of shipments. Among the tankers docking at the port, several were laden with various commodities, including fuel oil, solvents, crude oil, Vlakot, naphtha, and cashew oil. Notably, one of the tankers, identified as Fiag Sage, was primarily loaded with gasoline at Dock 2.
Al-Fartousi highlighted the effective collaboration between maritime navigation and port administration, which facilitated the successful coordination of loading, unloading, and dispatching operations.
As one of Iraq’s key maritime hubs, Khor Al-Zubair Specialized Port is instrumental in the transportation and shipping of oil-related materials and a range of industrial products, underscoring its significance within the country’s economic framework.
