Iraq’s Dollar Auction: Weekly Sales Surpass $1 Billion

The Central Bank of Iraq reported the total sales of US dollars during the previous week reached approximately $1.468 billion. This figure was generated through a series of auctions held over the five days of last week.

The average daily sales rate stood at $293.7 million, a slight decrease from the preceding week’s $296.7 million. Notably, on Monday of last week, dollar sales peaked at $301.5 million, while the lowest sales occurred on Wednesday, amounting to $286.0 million.

Regarding external transfers, sales totaled $1.393 billion, with cash sales contributing $75.25 million during the same period. This data provides a snapshot of the current demand for US dollars and the performance of currency sales in Iraq.
