The Turkish Statistics Authority has reported a significant decline in real estate purchases by Iraqi nationals in 2024, indicating a 32% drop compared to the previous year.
According to data released, Iraqis acquired a total of 1,302 properties in Turkey from January to December 2024, down from 1,917 properties purchased in the same timeframe in 2023.
The report highlights that Iraqis ranked fourth among foreign buyers of real estate in Turkey. The leading buyers continued to be Russians, who purchased 4,876 properties, followed by Iranians with 2,166 properties, and Kurdish buyers with 1,631 properties. Germans followed closely in fifth place with 1,283 properties, while Kazakhstan secured the sixth position with 1,055 acquisitions.
